What Alzheimer’s Society means to me

Posted March 05, 2024

Vivienne, an employee from our Strategy and Corporate Affairs team, shares why having the Alzheimer’s Society as our new charity partner is so important to her.

I am thrilled that Alzheimer’s Society will be our new charity partner. It means the world to me as we can all make an incredible difference to so many people who suffer from Alzheimer’s, and their families.

Alzheimer’s robbed me of my mother, Mary, just over 13 years ago. Even before her passing, over the course of eight painful years I gradually lost the wonderful, vibrant, vivacious woman she had been. I felt utterly helpless as there was nothing I could do to make her better – there is no cure.

My line manager recognised what I was going through and gave me so much support. I was able to go to care meetings with my parents and be on standby at work if there was an emergency.

Hear how the charity supported her throughout her mother's battle with Alzheimer's disease and why this partnership is so important to her and others.
